Sacramento clients have found their balance since 2012

Maren Albrecht, MS, RDN — founder

We don't sell supplements, cleanses or shakes. We help you eat the food you already love, with a plan your doctor will like and your family will actually eat.

Maren spent eight years as a clinical dietitian in a hospital diabetes program before opening Meadowlark Nutrition in 2012. Today three registered dietitians see clients in our office on J Street and by telehealth anywhere in California, and Beatriz at the front desk checks your insurance before you ever sit down.

Call or text us

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Not to book. Some insurance plans ask for one before they cover visits; Beatriz will tell you when she checks your benefits, and we'll request it from your doctor for you.

Will my insurance cover it?

Most major PPO plans cover medical nutrition therapy, and Medicare covers it for diabetes and kidney care. Most of our clients pay a $0–$40 copay. We check before your first visit, for free.

Is this a weight-loss program?

No. Some clients come to us wanting to lose weight and we'll help, but we measure success in labs, energy and how you feel. No meal replacements, no points, no weigh-in at every visit.

Will you try to sell me supplements?

Never. We don't sell supplements, cleanses or shakes. If you truly need one, a vitamin D for example, we'll tell you which kind and you can buy it wherever you like.

Can I see you by telehealth?

Yes, anywhere in California. Saturday mornings are telehealth only, and you can switch between video and the office from one visit to the next.

Do you see kids and teens?

Yes. Tomás sees picky eaters, kids with diabetes or food allergies, and high school athletes, with a parent in the room for anyone under sixteen.

Start with a free 15-minute call.

Pick a time and we'll call you, or come straight in for a first visit. We confirm by text within one business day.
